Following a brief run back in April, the Map Making Mega Bundle has returned for a limited time that lasts through early December. Described as an extensive collection of mapping tools created by a specialized software company over the years, the complete package carries a value of over $1,300. And there are multiple package options available here.
The big draw is certainly permanent access to the CC3+ software, an industry-standard cartography program that can be used to generate various types including epic fantasy landscapes, detailed regional charts, urban layouts, and, perhaps most importantly, tactical combat environments.
A regional fantasy map generated in Campaign Cartographer 3+.
The cheapest bundle tier, starting at just one dollar, features merely four of the 39 total items: Symbol Set 1: Fantasy Overland, Token Treasury: Monsters 1, Source Maps: Castles!, and Source Maps: Cities!. This one's only for cartographers who already have CC3+, but it does offer fresh fantasy design elements for overworld maps, more than 750 monster tokens for use in virtual tabletops, more than two dozen top-down castle layouts with 470 associated map tokens, eight complete urban centers, and more than 70 urban floorplans.
The eight-product collection starting at fifteen dollars is where things get more interesting by adding in a lifetime CC3+ license, Cartographer's Annual Vol 1, Tome of Ultimate Mapping, and Symbol Set 6: Isometric Cities. The Annual represents the annual collection from ProFantasy's long-running monthly subscription service featuring a variety CC3+ add-ons including map packs and additional utilities. Isometric Cities lets you present urban areas in 3D perspective using angled views from all sides. And the Tome of Ultimate Mapping is a 760-page suitable for novices and experts, full of tips and tutorials covering cartography techniques.
Starting at thirty dollars, the 39-item bundle includes all the following:
Every volume from the Annual series come with this bundle, plus numerous other resource and asset packs enabling creators to design entire planets or galaxies, or focus exclusively on traditional fantasy world-building: combat arenas, dungeons, cities, and land masses from almost any perspective. Users can also create character illustrations. For $30 as opposed to $15, the full bundle offers tremendous value, particularly for mappers with temporary CC3+ access and want to upgrade to lifetime. However, it's clearly an even better deal for cartography beginners since it includes the beginners' tutorials to help you get started. The sole limitation though you can redeem the deal across platforms, the applications only function with Windows systems.
As with other Humble Bundles, part of every purchase supports charitable organizations. For this one, that's Save the Children, established in 1919 by Eglantyne Jebb focused on improving the lives of children worldwide through education, health care, and emergency relief. Package customization options is toward the top of the page, but you can also select any amount for a donation on the right side of the page. There's also an donation allocation menu immediately below, enabling adjustment of how much of your donation allocated between the platform, developer, and charity.
